Finally I am able to blog again. Not a crochet pattern, but a tutorial on how to appliqué a bag!
This is what you need:
-a bag (I used a cotton shopping bag by Cath Kidston)
-Template of the cat
-Felt in : bleu-gray, light gray, white, black
-Scrap of flower fabric
-Sewing thread in blue-grey, white and black
-Embroidery thread in blue-grey and black
-Pressing cloth (I always use a dishtowel)
-iron and ironing board
1.Place the bondaweb over the template, with a pencil trace the following parts:
-Outline of the cat
-The white of the eyes
-The inner ears
-Blue-grey: Outline of cat and the two back paws.
-Black: nose and pupils
-Light grey: inner ears and two front paws
-White: white of the eyes
-Flower fabric: collar
3. Iron the pieces onto the felt and fabric. If you are ironing onto felt, make sure you use a pressing cloth!!!!
press your iron onto the bondaweb or fabric, do not slide your iron, otherwise your pieces will move out of place.
4.Cut out all the pieces precisely following the lines on the bondaweb.
6. Place the paws, and iron them onto the outline of the cat. Repeat this for all the pieces. With the eyes, first iron on the white and then the pupils.
7. Now you can take of the last pieces of the back of the bondaweb.
8. With little stitches secure the pieces to the outline of the cat.
9. Place the cat on the bag and iron it to the bag. (don't forget your pressing cloth)
10. Now secure the outline of the cat, with little stitches to your bag.
11. Embroider around the eyes. Then embroider toes, hairs on the tail, a mouth and some whiskers
12. Your done!!!!
Enjoy and let me know what you think!!!

So no crochet project this time, but a D.I.Y project I made last week.
A flower crate!
The idea came, because I have a cat who loves to tip over vases. I love to place little jars with flowers in them on my table, but every morning I found them on the floor. I decided to make something, that was to heavy for him. I think the result looks really pretty.
What do you need?
*fabric (not to heavy)
*3 glass jars
wallpaper paste, put it in a big enough bowl for you to be able to dip your hands in it.
Cut your fabric into small strips, (15x3 cm) cut also some smaller parts for the corners of your crate and a big piece for the bottom (messure the bottom on the inside of the crate)
isn´t this a lovely fabric? It is a left over and the shape was too weird to actually sew something from it.
Dip your fabric stips into the wallpaper paste. Get rid of the excess glue, buy squeezing it. Wrap the strips around the wood, making sure every bit is covered. Use little pieces for the corners. The large part of fabric goes on the bottom, make sure it´s completely smooth. You could use a brush for this.
Make sure that you cover the corners first.
now leave your crate to dry.
Step3. Leave the crate to dry, with me it took about 36 hours.
Step 4. If you like, apply waterproof varnish. Now you can even place the crate outside!
Step 5. Fill the jars with water and place them in the crate, now put some lovely flowers in there and your done!
